After 37 years the Jenner Inn has had a change of ownership. The Inn remains open. Extensive renovations have been made and more are under way. The renovations consist of new bedding with cozy comforters, carpets, painting, drapes, furniture, Keurig coffee makers in all rooms and other room amenities. The restaurant will be open by summer, with a full liquor license. Expect patio dining, upscale fare featuring local, sustainable menu items with a seafood emphasis, craft beers and Sonoma wines. The new owners are a family team of hospitality veterans from San Francisco and Sacramento, whose backgrounds include the renovation and operation the Delta King riverboat in Old Sacramento.
Located on Highway 1, where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean, the Jenner Inn offers unparalleled views of the Russian River estuary with eagles, seals, river otters, sea lions, pelicans and other seasonal visitors. The recreational opportunites are superb: kayaking, bicycling, fishing, hiking, abalone diving, mushroom hunting, whale and bird watching. Many take advantage of visits to the nearby wineries, redwoods, Bodega Bay or Fort Ross State Park, while others just prefer the romantic serenity of a visit to the bucolic hamlet of Jenner.
Jenner’s natural beauty, recreational opportunities and abundant wild life are the best parts of being located on the Sonoma Coast. Please note that like most rural coastal towns, cell phone and internet service is spotty. Guests are always welcome to use the office land line during office hours (9 AM to 8 PM). Verizon cell service adjacent to the office is generally available, but not entirely dependable. Only the Pelican and Rosewater units have land lines in the room. A television will be available in the bar, once the restaurant is opened this June. Though we are located next door to the Bay Area, Jenner is truly a rural community and being ‘unhooked” is one of our many benefits! For many, being “unhooked” is another appeal of this romantic, beautiful, nearby location. Take a break from TV stars and watch the ones in the night sky.
The Jenner Inn is located in West Sonoma on Coast Highway 1, at the juncture of the Russian River and the Pacific Ocean. It is an extraordinary site combining the beauty of West Sonoma, the Russian River, abundant wildlife in their natural setting, recreational activities, a picturesque village and proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area.
